QWhy does Mesh Lab show an undercut warning?
When the pinion has too few teeth for the chosen pressure angle, the tooth root gets cut away. Raise the tooth count or the pressure angle until the plate turns green.
QHow is the total ratio in Gear Chain calculated?
Each gear meshes with the one before it, and idlers only reverse direction. Total ratio is teeth of the last gear divided by teeth of the first, and direction alternates each stage.
QRatio Finder shows nothing. What is wrong?
The list stays empty until you enter a target ratio. Then it ranks up to twenty tooth pairs inside your min and max range by percent error. Tap a row to load that pair into Mesh Lab.
QHow do I compare two saved builds?
Open Logbook, tap Compare, and mark two builds. Side by Side lists every parameter and highlights the values that differ. You need at least two saved builds.
QCan I switch to inches or replay the intro?
Yes. In Preferences, choose mm or inch under Units, which applies to every screen, and open How to Use to see the introduction again.
QHow do I reset my data?
Preferences has three separate rows: Clear logbook, Reset gear chain and Restore mesh defaults. Each asks for confirmation before it changes anything.
